The SICAM microRTU is a telecontrol unit based on the SIMATIC S7-200 generation and can be used optimally for small volumes of information. Up to 50 items of information can be processed with the SICAM microRTU. The SICAM microRTU can be used for general telecontrol tasks in public and industrial power supply systems (such as the conditioning and transmission of indications, measured values, metered values and furthermore for the output of pulse and persistent commands).

The SICAM microRTU has the following features:

• Simple and cost-effective design
  SICAM microRTU is a modular system. The CPU already incorporates the power supply and the digital inputs/outputs. Expansion modules are butt-mounted and connected by means of a bus connector. In addition, a modem is available for top hat rail mounting.
  
• Future-proof and inte-gration-compatible
  Thanks to a standardized interface, the system can be easily connected to existing and future systems by means of the IEC 60870-5-101 protocol. This also applies to standardized products of other companies.
  
• Convenient parameterization
  Thanks to pre-assigned parameters, SICAM microRTU can be adapted to the relevant application in a speedy and reliable fashion.
  
• Efficient operating mode control
  The following transmission types are implemented:
  - Spontaneous
  - On demand
  - Cyclic
  Different priorities are available.
  
• Acquisition of indications
  All indications are acquired in the 10 ms scan, stored in a message buffer in the correct sort order, and transmitted.
