Power Automation (PA), a joint venture company between Singapore Power and Siemens was formed in June 1996 to pursue dynamic opportunities in power system control and substation automation markets in Southeast Asia. With deregulation and unbundling of the energy production and transport process, electric utilities are faced with increased competition and decreased operating margins while having to keep up with growing demands for power. The only solution lies in optimising existing resources through employing innovative IT solutions. With its team of experienced, expert end-users and
highly skilled technical staff, Power Automation has a unique ability
to understand, recognise and respond to both the operational and business
needs of electric utilities in Southeast Asia. Backed by the Siemens global
research organisation, Power Automation is well positioned to market,
develop, implement and deliver innovative solutions for power system control
and substation automation systems. PA is equipped with a portfolio of leading-edge utility automation solutions based on industry standards and open-system technology. They include:
PA builds and installs these computing environments on a turnkey basis i.e. typical projects would involve activities ranging from custom designing and engineering integration to training, factory acceptance testing, commissioning and support. From its strategic location in Singapore, PA is able to provide prompt and effective support to customers throughout the region. With more than 10 years of implementation in Singapore Power's SCADA/DMS system, the strong partnership between the key appointment holders at PA who were formerly from Singapore Power and the systems developers at Siemens has led to a number of successful collaborations on projects that eventually brought about highly effective innovations such as:
Modern manufacturing plants and equipment demand uninterrupted electricity supply with extremely high quality. Power Quality has become a popular topic among electrical engineers. PA is able to provide network solutions for the in-facility PQ/Energy monitoring. Our web-based solutions enable the facilities managers to monitor plants remotely, from any part of the world, without costly control systems. |
