SIPROTEC 6MD85
The SIPROTEC 6MD85 modular bay controller is designed for medium voltage and high to extra-high voltage switchgear and provides integrated operation and extensive protection functions. Coupled with DIGSI 5, it delivers powerful automation using simple configuration.
Its modular structure and flexibility allow the SIPROTEC 5 7UM85 to offer future-oriented solutions for protection, control, automation, monitoring, and Power Quality (PQ) basic.

- Extensive cybersecurity functionality (e.g. as role-based access control (RBAC), protocolling security-related events, signed firmware or authenticated network access IEEE 802.1X)
- Provides simple, quick and secure access to the device data via a standard Web browser to display all information, diagnostic data, vector diagrams, single-line diagrams, and device display pages
- Optional overcurrent protection for all voltage levels with 3-pole tripping
- Also used in switchgear with breaker-and-a-half configuration
- Overcurrent protection also configurable as emergency function
- Selective protection of overhead lines and cables with single-ended and multi-ended feeders using protection communication
- Captures operational measured variables and protection function measured values for the evaluation of the systems to support commissioning and analyze faults
- Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) for synchrophasor measured values and IEEE C37.118 protocol integrated
- Enables powerful fault recording (buffer for a max. record time of 80 sec. at 8 kHz or 320 sec. at 2 kHz)
